Happy New Year! As we enter 2025, we're reflecting back on the last month of 2024! š
We had a busy December here at Northfield Community Partnership! You can read all about it here:
Northfield NNS
In December, we delivered our final Community lunch of the year and this lunch was a big celebration of all the fantastic work being done by local community assets and groups within Northfield! It was great to hear from certain organisations about the packed year they've had providing support and activities to the community! Including: St Bartholomew's Church, Allen's Cross, Northfield Baptist ChurchĀ & Spoz from The Word Association. We hope everyone who came enjoyed their stay and enjoyed the festivities! Thank you to Midland MencapĀ for both hosting us and sharing their successes! The food spread they put on was amazing.
Future Proof
Garden clearance
Our customer has been suffering from significant physical mobility issues, requiring the use of a frame to move around. As a result, he has been unable to attend to his garden for an extended period. The garden was completely overgrown when Ralph first accessed it, with extensive trees, brambles, and rubbish throughout. The clearance has now enabled the customer to access his garden, which was previously unthinkable.
Patio transformation
Looking up garden
Access from back door
Looking down the garden to the house
Garden completion
When asked about how the citizen felt about the work he said, āit has made a massive difference, as I couldnāt get out the door beforehand!ā He was also appreciative of the fact he now āgot more light into the living roomā, which really helps as he very rarely adventures out of the bungalow. He was looking forward to when it gets warmer and felt āit will be nice to just get out there. When Ralph spoke to his mother she said, āI thought I walked into the wrong garden, itās so different!ā His sister said, āthis has given Alan a new lease of life, he will be able to come out here come spring. It looks amazingā.
Futureproof Stroke Christmas party funded by an NNS microgrant. We had a great time with delicious food, fierce quiz, chaotic bingo and making some centre pieces for the Christmas table! It was hosted by Redeemer Church coffee afternoon, which is every Monday 1 - 2:30pm.
Family Wellbeing Team
Our Family Wellbeing Team hosted an Employment & Training Fair at Oddingley Hall on 9th December. They had organisations present who offered:
š CV advice
šEmployment support
